Our stated purpose as a church is "To glorify God by reaching people with the Gospel, building them in their relationship with God and involving them in God's plan." We often summarize this purpose as RBI - Reach, Build, Involve.
Our first desire as a church to reach people with the message of how they can have eternal salvation. Bible teaches that we can have eternal life if we personally place our faith in Jesus Christ who died for our sin and rose again. This first step of faith is the beginning of a life with meaning and assurance of eternal life.
Our next purpose is to build people spiritually. By this we mean that we want to help people grow in their understanding of God through His Word - the Bible, through relationships with other believers and through worship together. The church is a family and we will develop a stronger relationship with God as we function together.
God’s work of making disciples is multiplied as individual believers serve using the gifts and abilities God gives. Some might assume that ministry is the job of paid professionals - pastors – but God has called every believer to be involved in reaching and building people spiritually. Involvement is a matter of gratefully using the gifts and abilities God gives us to serve Him.
Check out this 2018 sermon series detailing our purpose as a church.
1. The Bible – We teach God’s inerrant word as fully authoritative, seeking at all age levels to promote Bible knowledge and apply it to daily life.
2. The Gospel – We want to keep the gospel clear and simple – We are all sinners unable to earn salvation. Eternal life is given by God to all who trust in Jesus Christ alone who died for our sin and rose again.
3. The Church – We place high value on meeting weekly to worship God, communicate God’s Word and build community.
1. Grace – We seek to worship and obey the Lord motivated by gratitude for God’s undeserved kindness to us through Jesus Christ.
2. Family – We value creating healthy family relationships in the church, based on grace and truth, as we serve one another like Christ.
3. Authenticity – We value humility and transparency as we grow in faith.
1. Evangelism – We seek to share the gospel, locally and globally, equipping each other to share our faith personally.
2. Discipleship – We pursue a culture of multiplication by helping each other mature spiritually and encouraging each other to serve Christ.
3. Service – We strive to advance the gospel by serving people in our community in Jesus’ name.
